En Concreto Design Lab: Concrete Objects with a Brand Identity

Craft with a purpose
En Concreto Design Lab joins Petit Gaudí’s Club of 25 with ECDL Pro, its professional line for businesses. Carlos Baquero designs and makes concrete pieces for brands, hotels, restaurants, shops, events and projects that need to turn an idea into a physical object. Concrete becomes more than a building material: it becomes part of a brand’s identity.
From design to mould
Every commission starts with a purpose. What should the object hold, display, commemorate or communicate? The next steps involve dimensions, weight, thickness, texture, durability, mould making and finishing. A concept that looks convincing on screen often needs adjustment once it meets the material. ECDL Pro designs with production in mind from the beginning.
What can it make for a company?
The possibilities include menu holders, display stands, retail fixtures, bases for hospitality projects, trophies, awards, commemorative objects, personalised small batches and pieces for exhibitions or brand activations. Some commissions start from a detailed brief; others begin with a simple idea that still needs designing.
The character of concrete
Concrete has weight, texture and presence. Small variations, pores and tonal differences tell the story of how an object was made. These visible imperfections can become a positive part of its identity rather than something to conceal.
Brands are experienced through objects
A business identity extends beyond a logo. It is present in how a menu is offered, how a product is displayed and how an award is presented. En Concreto makes those moments tangible through functional, distinctive pieces whose material is part of the message.
