Hostemplo and the Gaudí Centenary: An Experience Beside the Sagrada Família

A different way to experience the centenary
Barcelona marked the hundredth anniversary of Antoni Gaudí’s death in 2026. Events surrounding the centenary and the symbolic completion of the Tower of Jesus Christ brought renewed attention to the Sagrada Família. Just a short walk from the basilica, Hostemplo used this moment to connect accommodation, neighbourhood life and a meaningful keepsake.
A quiet corner of the Eixample
Passatge de Gaiolà, less than a hundred metres from the basilica, offers a remarkably central location without the bustle of the main avenues. Hostemplo presents three types of stay: Hotel Boutique Hostemplo, with an intimate, design-conscious feel; Apart-Suites Hostemplo, offering greater independence; and Hostemplo Sagrada Familia, a practical and comfortable base for exploring the city.
Design, memory and craftsmanship
The centenary project brings together a commemorative medal, a dedicated poster and guest information materials. Petit Gaudí led the creative concept and direction of this initiative. The aim was to connect the visitor’s stay with the history and identity of Barcelona, rather than simply offer another anonymous souvenir.
The Gaudí 2026 medal
The medal is conceived as a physical reminder of a particular year and place. Its meaning comes not only from its design but also from the experience surrounding it: visiting the Sagrada Família, staying nearby and carrying a small piece of that memory home.
Small details, lasting impressions
A hotel can offer a comfortable room; it can also help visitors understand the neighbourhood they are discovering. This collaboration brings together hospitality, design and Barcelona craftsmanship on a human scale.
