The idea was already in the logo
People come to Petit Gaudí for different reasons: a memory of Barcelona, something to make with their hands, or a gift they can adapt to a particular person. I wanted a simple, recognisable object that could serve more than one purpose. The starting point was right in front of me: the brand’s symbol.
I have spent more than 25 years working with design, websites and digital experiences. I approached the puzzle much as I would any product experience: it should be immediately understandable, yet offer more possibilities once someone begins to explore it.
Twenty-six pieces, one outline
I translated the circular logo into wood and divided it according to a logic inspired by mosaics and trencadís. Every fragment had to lift out, move and fit back into its own space. The result is a wooden puzzle 13.5 cm in diameter, with 26 removable pieces and an outer ring.
The number 26 also echoes 2026, the centenary of Antoni Gaudí’s death. Its industrial design is registered under D0540590.

One object, five uses
You can assemble it as a puzzle, colour or intervene on its pieces, use it in a group workshop, display it, or carefully use it as a base for a cup or a warm container. The materials and finish had to make these uses practical without complicating the idea.
Laser cutting, finished by hand
The shapes are laser-cut, then individually checked, sanded and finished by hand. Touch, edges and wood grain matter. Slight variations between objects are part of the craft rather than flaws to conceal.
A family of versions
The wood can remain natural, receive a single colour, or combine three to eight colours in the Multicolour edition. The DUO pairs two puzzles whose pieces can be exchanged. Artwork may also be printed on the removable pieces. Through all these choices, the outside shape remains unmistakably the same.

Making the object clear before it is held
Designing the product also means designing how people discover it. Photographs, measurements, finishes, packaging and simple explanations should help someone choose without having to ask for a lengthy demonstration. For international customers, clarity about languages and shipping matters just as much.
I use AI tools to compare ways of presenting the collection and refining explanations. The form, material decisions and finishing still come from experience, experiments and hands-on work.
