Some studios make new stained glass. Others restore historic windows. Can Pinyonaire does both — which means knowing the material before deciding what to do with it.
Stained glass made for a real space
Based in Girona’s old town, Anna Santolaria’s studio creates contemporary stained glass, commissioned pieces and faithful reproductions of historic work. Architecture, natural light and the character of each space guide the design.

A window can become a defining feature; a glass panel can bring colour into a room; an artistic commission can stand on its own. Can Pinyonaire works with architects, designers and artists as well as with people who simply appreciate what glass can do.
Old techniques, contemporary ideas
Leaded glass, glass painting, acid etching and gilding share the workbench with fusing and newer processes. The studio chooses techniques for what the work needs, not for how traditional they sound.
Restoration is another kind of craftsmanship
Anna Santolaria has worked on important Catalan stained-glass conservation projects, including a rediscovered medieval window at Girona Cathedral, windows on the façade of Casa Batlló, the modernist glazing of Joan Bruguera school, and the Basilica of Santa Maria in Vilafranca del Penedès.

The studio’s European experience also includes work involving Lichfield Cathedral, York Minster, Uppsala Cathedral and Naumburg Cathedral. Historic glass calls for sound research, careful handling and techniques that respect the original.
Can Pinyonaire at Petit Gaudí
Petit Gaudí has collaborated with the studio and featured its pieces. Our former physical shop closed in January 2026; today the artisan selection continues online, with availability shown on each product page. The craft is very much alive — it just no longer needs our old shop window.
